All your renewal documents will be sent out within the first week of September
There is no longer an option to extend your policy for any length of time. We can only write annual policies. No extensions are allowed by the insurance company.
All payments must be received from the named insured, not another party.
If financing and not paying in full:
All payments must be made through the finance company.
All balance questions must be made through the finance company.
If you are late on a payment multiple times, the carrier may choose not to reinstate your policy and you will lose coverage.
No notice of cancellation or phone calls regarding cancellation will be made from our office. Cancellation notices will be sent directly to you through the finance company.
NSF (NON-SUFFICIENT FUNDS) CHECK PAYMENTS:
Once a check is bounced, payment must be made by a credit/debit card, cashier’s check or money order.
An additional $50 NSF charge will be applied to your bill in order to continue/reinstate your coverage.
The DCA requires both the buyer and the seller of a pedicab to have insurance on the unit before the transfer can be complete.
The buyer is responsible for starting his own insurance on the unit.
The seller is responsible for cancelling the insurance once the transfer is complete.
We suggest you initiate any transfer process prior to November to allow time to process.
SERIAL # CHANGES:
Due to the number of people switching serial numbers on their policy, there is now a $100 change fee for “correcting” or “replacing” serial numbers on a certificate for any more than one change per policy period. For example: You insure serial # A123, switch it off your policy for serial # B987, the switch back to #A123. You will incur a $100 change fee.
All policies once bound by the carrier are subject to 25% minimum earned premium (this means that 25% of the premium + all the taxes and fees are NON-REFUNDABLE) Whether one day or 30 days, it is not refundable. This is a carrier rule. It cannot be waived.
Same day certificates will not be possible due to the volume of renewals.
These policies are only valid for the 5 boroughs of New York – any events outside of NYC are not covered.
