Thank you so much for your patience during this very challenging situation. We have been working with the insurance carriers and want to provide an update on the carriers response to the COVID-19 health emergency.
During this time, if units need to be removed from coverage and added on at a later date, we can help facilitate this (normally units cannot be deleted and added back in the same policy term). Please note that if the carriers change rates and you resume (add back) your pedicabs to your policy during the current term, it will be at the prevailing rate. Although we are not aware of any rate changes at this time, this is subject to change.
If cancelling the policy is necessary, we can also help facilitate this (subject to the 25% minimum earned premium). However, we advise you to check with your local municipality as to whether they will hold your plates and authorization until you resume coverage. We are not able to ‘layup’ or pause coverage and maintain a certificate with your city or municipality if your policy is out of force. Please remember there is a 25% minimum earned (non-refundable) portion of the premium. After the first 3 months of coverage, premium can be refunded on a pro-rated basis. If your policy has been financed, the finance company can take up to 30-60 days to process the changes and send any return premium. We work with them to make this a fast as possible for you.
Any changes or cancellations must be presented in writing and cannot be communicated over the phone. We are not able to process without an email or letter from the named insured on the policy.
Upon seeking coverage again, an updated application will be required (along with a “No Known Loss Letter” stating that there were no claims or losses during the gap in coverage) in order to provide a new quote. We will assist with this as much as possible in order to expedite your return to operations.
Please note that we cannot speak to the future rates that the carriers may implement.
